Professional life
Shaidornell began his career (in 1998) as a College Lecturer in Goodwill College, Shillong, where he taught Physics. During the same period, he landed a job as a High School Teacher in Douglas Memorial High School, Shillong, where he taught Mathematics and Science. During the two and a half month stint at the two institutions, he cleared a job interview conducted by the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, Shillong, and joined the organization in May, 1998. He presently works as Senior Scientist.
Literary journey
Shaidornell Swer has always been passionate about reading. He began dabbling in writing in 2010 and has continued doing so ever since. He wrote "When 3 suicides met! An almost true story" during his spare time and took seven years to complete it! This became his first literary work and first work of fiction and was published (by Notion Press) in April, 2017. His first work of nonfiction entitled "how you can DISCOVER YOUR TALENT AND TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE!" was published in February, 2018, by the same publishing house. Since then he has written many other titles. His literary work covers various genre of fiction and nonfiction (print and e-copies). Presently he is working on a novel set to release in 2023.
Personal life
Shaidornell was born on the 14th of March, 1972, to (Late) Ableman Swer and Pienglamon Syiemlieh. He is the fourth of six siblings (now five). He completed his lower and upper primary education from Auxilium High School and St. Margaret's High School, Shillong, and his middle and high school from St. Anthony's High School, Shillong. He passed his matriculation (SSLC) in 1988 and attended the Pre-University course in Sciences at St. Anthony's College, Shillong, during the same year. He completed his BSc Degree in Physical Sciences and BSc (Hons.) in Physics from the same College after which he attended his post graduate study at the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He received his degree in MSc (Physics) in 1997 after which he worked as a College Lecturer and High School Teacher (simultaneously) and later joined the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, Shillong. He married wife Kamla in the year 2000 and is blessed with son Gideon and daughter Mishel. He lives in Shillong (Meghalaya, India).
